Ozark Roadside Art Vase | Cobalt Swirl
Found in Missouri (where the Ozark are)
A striking example of Southern swirl pottery featuring a vivid cobalt blue ground with layered white marbled banding. The flowing glaze creates a dramatic movement around the shoulder, with natural variations that make each piece entirely unique.
This form reflects the classic roadside pottery tradition of the early to mid 1900's American South, where bold color and expressive glaze work defined regional decorative ware. The rolled rim and rounded body give the piece a strong, sculptural presence, while the interior remains unglazed and organic in tone, emphasizing its handmade character.
The glaze shows beautiful depth and natural variation throughout. Small glaze pops and minor surface irregularities are present, consistent with traditional kiln firing methods. Overall condition is very good with no structural damage.
